Our Story
KLN BBQ & Grills was founded out of a deep love for Nigerian cuisine and a desire to share the bold, vibrant flavors of our homeland with the world. The journey started with founders Kennedy and Lorita, both proud natives of Imo State, Nigeria, who moved to the UK with a dream of introducing authentic Nigerian dishes to a broader audience.
Growing up in families where food was at the heart of every celebration, Kennedy learned the art of cooking from his mother, who was known for her traditional, soul-satisfying meals. Lorita, on the other hand, honed her culinary skills from her mother, who owned a popular restaurant in Lagos for over 35 years, renowned for her masterful use of local spices and her ability to transform everyday ingredients into extraordinary dishes.
For Kennedy, food was always more than just something to eat—it was about culture, community, and connection. His passion for cooking grew as he experimented with new recipes and shared them with friends, family, and colleagues, especially during festive times like Christmas. His dishes were always the highlight, sparking debates over the best jollof rice or the most comforting pepper soup.
When they moved to the UK, Kennedy and Lorita noticed a gap in the culinary landscape. Despite the richness and diversity of Nigerian food, it wasn’t widely represented in mainstream dining. This realization sparked the creation of KLN BBQ & Grills—an authentic Nigerian restaurant where every dish celebrates the heart and soul of Nigeria. More than just a place to eat, KLN aims to offer a true "Naija" experience, bringing together the sights, smells, and flavors of Nigeria right in the heart of the UK.
